【by Kevin Rogers】

Stained glass sunlight strains my eyes,
As does Ezra Pound’s In a Station of the Metro.
I am glad it is short, since I forgot to do the reading last night.
Professor tells us crows can individuate human faces.
As I wonder how many crows may know my face,
And how much changed for the human race
In Pound’s long life, the class rolls on: Williams’ The Dance.
Someone calls a painting permanent;
I raise a quiet eyebrow.
