【by Paulina Campanella】
With rhetoric of speech, no peer contests.
Her words lay waste to nearby eloquence.
Of witty Cicero she gets the best,
And rivals she drags with irrelevance –
Like Hector. On that note, her diction lacks
Achilles’ heels; no Ides of March befalls.
Armed with a pen, unwavering syntax
Lets ink flow out like glossy blood of Gauls.
She conquers pages: Hannibal’s nightmare
And Scipio’s envy. A Punic knight
Who deems she venit, vidit, vicit where
The grand commander orders her to write
A sonnet! “Due Next Time”? She drafts and inks –
Eheu! Into the Rubicon she sinks.
